Springfield -Marie A. (Wilson) Fay, 94, passed away Wednesday at Wingate of East Longmeadow. She was a resident of Indian Orchard for the prior 64 years. Marie was born in Agawam to the late Mary (Scully) and Charles Wilson, and she was a graduate of Agawam High School. During World War II, Marie worked on the switchboard at the Springfield Ordnance. Marie also worked as a Secretary for the Springfield School Department for 25 years. At age 65, her passion for interacting with people called her back to work part time for another 25 years on the switchboard at Mass Mutual. She retired for the last time at the age of 90. She was a communicant of St. Thomas Church in W. Spfld. and Sacred Heart Church in Springfield. Marie was an active member of the Agawam Senior Center and the Golden Agers Club, and she was an avid Red Sox fan. However, her greatest joy was sharing her life with family and friends. She leaves her loving sons, Michael Fay and his wife Carol of West Roxbury and Kevin Fay of Springfield, and her brother, John Wilson of E. Longmeadow. She leaves her beloved grandchildren, Matthew Fay of New York City, Kathryn Fay of Chicago, Christopher Fay of Cotuit, MA, Carolyn Simons of Emerald Hills, CA and Maureen Glockenberg of Springfield, as well as her beloved great-grandchildren, Carson, Louisa, and Grady Simons. Marie was predeceased by her husbands, Joseph Fay in 1974 and Raymond Lyden in 2011 and four siblings, Irene, Rita, Charles and Emmett, as well as her loving cousin, Walter Haggerty. The funeral will be Monday 9AM at the TOOMEY-O'BRIEN Funeral Home, 1043 Westfield St. W. Spfld., followed by a 10AM Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 47 Pine Street.
