Natalie Frances (Smith) Binda, 102, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2018 at Baystate Medical Center. Natalie was born March 11, 1916 in Melrose, MA to the late Frank and Carolyn (Gould) Smith. For 54 years she was married to her late husband, Daniel F. Binda. Natalie and Daniel moved from Melrose to West Springfield in 1951. She was co-owner, with her husband, of Binda Realty, located for more than 20 years on Westfield Street in the center of West Springfield. She was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church and a member of the St. Thomas Senior group. As a member of the West Springfield Senior Center she enjoyed the exercise classes, trips and social events. She was fond of traveling both within the states and overseas. Her greatest joy was her family. She took much pride in the accomplishment of her daughters and their families. Natalie is survived by her loving daughters, Carol Beatrice of North Kingstown, RI and Natalie “Lee” Chapman (Alan) of Lake Worth, FL. She was the cherished Nana to Michael (Sarah) Beatrice, Stephen (Antonio) Beatrice, Brian (Nicole) Beatrice, David Beatrice, Robin Noye, and Scott (Jennifer) Chapman. As “Nana Binda” she was loved by great grandchildren Julia Noye; Kyleigh, Addison, Emma Chapman; Sienna and Gunnar Beatrice. Besides her beloved husband, Natalie was predeceased by her sister Carol Roscio, brother R. Kenneth Smith, and her son-in-law Joseph Beatrice. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews, as she leaves a gap in all our lives. The family is most grateful for the compassionate care that Dr. Roger Beneiton, Suzanne Gossman, Jen Chapman, and the nurses on the Baystate Orthopedic floor gave her. We are also thankful to her terrific neighbors Maureen and John Martin, Brenda and the late Harold Bernard, Angie Dowd and her friend, Jean Kiczek for their support and love for more than 50 years.
