West Springfield- Pearl Rose (Barre) Zucco, 82, of High Street passed away Saturday at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Chicopee on August 1, 1934 to the late Henry W. and Antoinette (Demers) Barre. She grew up in Easthampton and Holyoke. She was a graduate of Holyoke Catholic High School. Pearl was a communicant of St. Thomas Church in West Springfield. She was very interested in genealogy and traced her family roots back to the 1692. She held various jobs throughout her life, including at Sullivan Paper and the Forastiere Funeral Homes. She touched the lives of many and will be missed by all who knew her. She enjoyed lunches, shopping and spa-time with her friends. Her life's work was building a home for her husband and children. She delighted in caring for and spending time with her grand-children and great grand-children. Most recently she found renewed energy and joy in her relationship with her great grand-daughter Josephine. She was the beloved wife of 62 yrs. to Peter Zucco, loving mother of Dominic Zucco of West Springfield, Diane Zucco of West Springfield, Annette Zucco of Stowe, MA, Joanne Zucco of Agawam, Barbara Zucco of South Hadley, and Judy LaPorte of Ware, caring sister of Vincent Barre of Westfield and Anne Musselwhite of Feeding Hills, devoted grandmother of 15 and great grandmother of 7. The funeral will be Wednesday 11 AM at the TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 Westfield Street, West Springfield, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 12 PM at St. Thomas Church in West Springfield. The Committal Service will be at the St Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday 4-7 PM at the funeral home.
