F. Evelyn (Kennedy) Ashley, 87, passed away Tuesday at Heritage Hall in Agawam. .Evelyn was born in Springfield to the late Anna (Boudreau) and Francis Kennedy. She was a graduate of Cathedral High School and worked in the business office of Baystate Medical Center for many years. Evelyn was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Springfield. She enjoyed traveling with her husband to Cape Cod, Ogunquit, Maine, Europe and Hawaii. She also enjoyed reading, crocheting and spending her time cooking Sunday dinners for her family. Evelyn was predeceased by her beloved husband, Raymond Ashley in 2001. She leaves her loving children, Keith Ashley and his wife Christine of Belchertown, Cynthia Strobelberger and her husband Robert of Belchertown, Scott Ashley of West Springfield and Craig Ashley and his wife Debbie of Springfield, her six adored grandchildren; Stephanie, Philip, Emily, Adam, Kathryn, and Ryan, her seven great-grandchildren; Olivia, Connor, Az, Cooper, Nolan, Parker, and Ellie and her cousin, who was more like a sister, Shirley LaCroix. She was predeceased by her sister Kathleen Cebula. The funeral will be Friday at 9 AM at TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 Westfield Street., West Springfield, followed at 10 AM by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church. Burial in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday 5-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Evelyn’s name may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
