Gerald E. MacDonald

West Springfield - Geraldine "Gerry". E MacDonald, 63 passed away peacefully Saturday, July 22, at home surrounded by her loving family. Gerry was born June 28, 1954 in New London, CT to the late James and Dora (Lyons) MacDonald. She grew up in Westbrook, CT and was a graduate of the class of'72 from Westbrook High School. She also held two Associates degrees. Gerry honorably served her country in the United States Air Force as an Electronic Specialist from 1976-1980, reaching the rank of Sargent and was stationed in Caribou, ME. Over the years she served as a vet tech in RI, worked for Saybrook Yacht Services and the DEP in CT. She eventually settled in West Springfield, where she worked for Home Depot for over 13 years. She loved gardening especially orchids, bird watching, jewelry making, mineralogy, photography and writing. She was a dog lover her whole life and took special pleasure in the working and training of them. Gerry is survived by the love of her life for 30 years, Peter Vose and his children Todd O. Vose, Hilary A. Bernetich and her husband Jeff and Jason L. Vose. She was cherished sister to James "Scott" MacDonald of CO, Bonnie MacDonald Nather and her husband Allen of FL, David L. MacDonald and his wife Michelle of FL, Robert C. MacDonald and his wife Debbie of DE, and Leland A. MacDonald and his wife Inga Jodi Kneeland-MacDonald of OR. She will be dearly missed by her extended family and friends. A celebration of her life will be held at Mittineague Park in West Springfield, September 2nd at 10:30.
