John James Niedzielski, 90, of Birnie Avenue passed away January 16, 2019 at home surrounded by his family. Born in West Springfield, May 30, 1928, the son of the late Joseph and Sophia (Szetela) Niedzielski. John lived most of his life in West Springfield and was a 1947 graduate of West Springfield High School. John worked for years as a service technician for Xerox. He began his career working in agriculture on the Myron Brown Farm in West Springfield and after that he drove an oil truck for Converse-Carlisle formerly of West Spfld. John was a U.S. Army Veteran and served in Germany during the Korean War. He loved taking cross country trips on his motorcycle with his late wife Louise. John was the loving husband of Louise T. (Daly) Niedzielski who passed away in 2016, beloved father of Robert J. Niedzielski and his wife Caroline of Easthampton, caring brother of Joseph of Westfield, Donald and his wife Claudette of Westfield, Claire LeCroix and her husband William of Chicopee and Frances Agustonovich of Florida, devoted grandfather of Robert Jr., Michael, and Lauren and great grandfather of Wynter, Trent, Zoe, and Anakin. Calling hours will be on Monday from 9am-10:30am at TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 Westfield Street, West Springfield followed by a Funeral Mass at St Thomas Church in West Springfield at 11am.
