Robert “Bob” A. Romano, 75, passed away Sun June 30, 2019. He was born Oct. 8, 1943 to the late Paul and Grace Romano. He graduated Hartford Public High School in 1961 and obtained his Assoc. Degree in Business at Manchester Community College. Bob served in the Army National Guard and worked for many years as a project manager up and down the East Coast and in the Virgin Islands. As a master carpenter, he could take any piece of wood and turn it into a piece of art. He loved nature and spending time in the outdoors especially in NH. Bob also enjoyed volunteering his time with senior citizens. He was a kind soul who always seemed to have a special connection with all animals. He was often referred to as the “animal whisper”. He leaves his wife of 25 years, Karen (Battista) Romano, his daughter Jill Johnson and her husband James of Coventry, CT., his grandsons; Ryan and Nathan Johnson, his brother’s; Richard (Joan) Romano of TX., Donald (Mary) Romano of E. Hartford, CT., David (Beverly) Romano of S. Windsor, CT., his sisters Paula (the late Bruce) Burke of Broad Brook, CT., and Lori (Kenny) Krewalk of Coventry, CT., along with several nieces and nephews and friends. A Memorial Service will be held SAT 10:30 AM at the TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 WESTFIELD ST., W.SPFLD. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
