Roger Gerald Boisvert, DDS

January 24, 1929 ~ February 2, 2018 (age 89)

Roger G. Boisvert, DDS, 89, passed away peacefully at home on Friday February 2, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Roger was born in New Bedford Mass. on January 24, 1929. He was the son of the late George and Georgianna Boisvert. Roger spent his childhood in New Bedford where he attended St. Anthony School. He attended Assumption Prep School and College where he was captain of the football team. Roger served in the army during the Korean War and then returned to graduate from Assumption in 1952. He graduated from Georgetown Dental School in 1961 and practiced Dentistry in West Springfield for 36 years. Roger enjoyed reading, gardening and especially family gatherings. Nothing made Roger happier than spending time with his grandchildren. He was an avid sports fan. His favorite teams included the Boston Red Sox, the New England Patriots and most of all he loved the UConn Women’s Basketball Team. He leaves his best friend and wife of 63 years Eveline Bertrand Boisvert. Roger was pre-deceased by his brothers Maurice and Leo, and sisters Lauretta, Muriel, Doris and Yvette. Roger leaves to cherish his memory forever: Dr. Marc Boisvert (Elena), Dr. Susan Gaston (Benjamin), Anne Sosnowich (Richard), Peter Boisvert (Joanne), Karen King (Samuel), and Paul Boisvert (Kathryn) as well as his 14 grandchildren: Jason, Jeff, Rebecca, Renee, Daniel, Jacqueline, Nicholas, Emily, Alexander, James, Carlton, Amanda, Scott and Adam and his great-granddaughter Kaelynn. The family would like to thank the VA and the outstanding staff of Mercy Hospice for their compassionate care and a special thanks to Ann and "his angel" Leslie for her kindness and devotion. Calling hours will be at TOOMEY-O’BRIEN Funeral Home, 1043 Westfield St., West Springfield on Friday, February 9th at 9:30 am followed by, at 11:30 am, Mass at St Thomas Church and burial at the VA Cemetery in Agawam.
