Springfield- Albert “Junior” Roland Breton, 90, longtime Pine Point resident passed away Saturday (6/7), at Loomis Lakeside at Reeds Landing. Born in Springfield on June 5, 1935, to the late Albert E. and Helen (Guzik) Breton. He worked at Chapman Valve as an industrial x-ray technician for 15 years and later at Conam and Smith and Wesson. He was an U.S. Army Veteran from 1957-1959, serving most of his time in Germany. He was a longtime communicant of Our Lady of Sacred Heart Church in Springfield and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 160. Junior was an avid golfer and was a longtime member of Ludlow C.C. He was a passionate New England sports fan and a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan. He was an outdoor enthusiast, fishing, and hunting for most of his life. He also enjoyed bowling and softball. He leaves his beloved wife of 64 years, Mary E. (Donnelly) Breton, his son, Alan Breton of New Orleans, and several cousins. There will be a Private Committal Service at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home has been entrusted with all services. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
