Alfred H. Christopher, 91, passed away January 16, 2020 at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Agawam, November 6, 1928, he was the son of the late Enrico and Dehlia (Guidi) Christopher. Al graduated from Agawam High School and worked as a salesman for various food companies for many years and was a US Navy veteran. He loved golf and was a member at Oak Ridge Country Club in Agawam and also played semi-pro hockey and football. His beloved wife Lucy (Benigni) Christopher passed away in 2016. He leaves his beloved daughter, Paula Christopher of Feeding Hills, beloved sister, Dorothy Pilegi of Agawam, his loving grandchildren, Leena Ruel and her husband Jonathan of West Springfield and Gerald Green Jr. of Feeding Hills, loving great grandson, Christopher Ruel, nephews Dominic Urbanti and his wife Teresa, Anthony Pilegi, and nieces Deborah Godbout and Cindy Rackliffe and her husband James and Pamela Grasso. He was predeceased by his sisters, Enis Lucia and Irene Grasso. A funeral home service will be held Wednesday January 22, 2020 at 11am at the Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home 1043 Westfield St. West Springfield with burial to follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday 4-7. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Assn. 300 5th Ave Waltham, MA. 02451.
