Obituary

Alice (Craven/Brennan) Babcock, 80, entered into eternal rest Saturday, February 7, 2026 at The Atrium in Agawam, MA. Born in Springfield, MA, she was the daughter of the late Ruth (Burke) Craven and Arnold Craven, Sr. Alice lived in West Springfield with the love of her life, her late husband Jim. Spending time with loved ones, family/friend dinners, Irish culture and live music were some of Alice’s favorite pastimes. If she wasn’t reading non-fiction books or playing solitaire on her cell phone, she could be found watching college sports on TV or traveling to watch the UCONN women’s basketball team. Alice worked in banking the majority of her life, with Valley Bank, then with BayBank for many years. She then joined Bank of South Windsor, then Center Bank in Waterbury, CT. Alice went back to school, graduating from the Elms College with her business degree in 1991. Soon after, she moved to Westfield Bank, later retiring as an executive having worked on opening several branches and managing the overall retail banking experience for many years. Alice leaves her daughter and granddaughter Kathleen and Kaleigh Farris, step-children Debra (Rich), Diane (Chuck), Corry (Ann-Louise), Jeff (Joyce), Lisa (Tom), 16 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, her sister Jean, several nieces and nephews, along with many friends. Calling hours at Toomey O’Brien Funeral Home, 1043 Westfield Street, West Springfield, are Monday, February 16, 2026 from 2-5 PM. Alice’s Funeral will be held Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 9:00 AM from Toomey O’Brien Funeral Home to a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 47 Pine St, W.
