Alice J. Zuvers

Alice Zuvers, 76 of Holyoke, MA passed away at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield on April 20, 2023. Alice was born in Schenectady New York on June 4, 1946 to the late Howard and Roberta Zuvers. She grew up in Scotia New York where she graduated High school and then she attended the University of Illinois where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree and went on to Cornell University receiving her Master’s degree. Alice was a wonderful mother and she loved her children very much. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed cross country camping and skiing. Alice loved to knit and everyone who was close to her had a scarf that she knitted for them. Alice was part of the P.E.O. Sisterhood and it was dear to her heart. She also supported the girl scouts and loved to be involved in her community. Her retirement activities included playing bridge with friends at local senior centers, making dresses for little girls in African countries, and making delicious pickles which she gave away. Alice will be greatly missed by her daughter Tameeka Crews. She also leaves behind her grandchildren and great grandchildren, her brother Charles Zuvers of New Jersey and she was predeceased by her sister Carol Zuvers. Calling hours will be held Monday, May 1, 2023 from 2:00PM to 4:00PM followed by a Memorial Service at 4:00PM at the Toomey O’Brien Funeral Home, 1043 Westfield Street, West Springfield MA.
