Allan Paul Collins passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, September 21st. He was born in Springfield on July 18, 1936, to the late Carl A. and Alice (Arieti) Collins. He leaves his wife Debra A. Collins of 33 years, his daughter Alicia DeJesus and her husband Christopher, their daughters, Trinity and Brooke, his son, Jason Biagetti and his partner, Kat, his grandson Nolan, granddaughter, Emersyn, his sister, Carole (Collins) Sauter, his nephew, Michael Martone and his wife Colleen, their children, Michael and Olivia, and his niece, Michelle Martone. Al was a proud U.S. Marine Veteran. He served honorably for 32 years as an Agawam Police Officer. He was a graduate of West Springfield High School and later received a degree in Criminal Justice at A.I.C. He was an official West Springfield Rink Rat and a longtime member of the Deadline Gang. Al loved hockey and was a proud member of the West Springfield 1952 State Hockey Championship Team and in that Championship Game he scored two goals. Al enjoyed all sports, he was an avid reader, and he loved his cigars. There will be a Committal Service 10 AM Tuesday, September 30 at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street in Agawam. Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home has been entrusted with all services. In lieu of flowers, donations in Allan’s name may be made to Tunnels to Towers, 2361 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, NY 10306.
