Angela E. Cross

1979 — 2025

West Springfield

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved daughter/sister Angela E. Cross on October 19, 2025. Born in Springfield on April 17, 1979, Angela was the daughter of Stephen and Deborah (Parent) Cross of West Springfield. She earned her Bachelor of Science, Psychology and her Master of Education in Psychology/School Guidance and Counseling from Springfield College. She worked as a Guidance Counselor for the Westfield and Granby, MA Boards of Education. She touched the lives of many students with her compassion and understanding.

Angela had a passion for the Arts. In her youth she studied jazz, tap and ballet dancing. As she grew, she became an avid reader, loved movies and music of all genres. She was inquisitive about the world around her and was a self-described “lifelong learner”.

After a long and courageous fight Angela has finally found peace. She faced many challenges in her life, including a long and difficult battle with mental health and substance use disorder. Through every hardship, she showed remarkable strength, courage, and resilience. Her struggle was never a reflection of her character, but of the illnesses she fought so bravely to overcome. Those who knew her saw beyond the pain - they saw her laughter, her creativity, her kindness, and the deep love she carried for her family and friends. Though this disease ultimately took her from us too soon, it can never erase the beauty she brought into the world or the memories she left behind.

Angela was predeceased by her maternal Grandfather Gerard “Jake” Parent (2015) and her paternal Grandparents Anthony “Tony” (2003) and Bertha Cross (2015) and her beloved dog Nova (2025). She will be missed by her loving parents, Stephen and Deborah of West Springfield; brother Matthew (Wilma) Cross of Simsbury, CT and sister Alison (Thai) Bui of Wilbraham; a niece Sadie Cross, nephews Hudson and Shey Bui, her maternal grandmother Marlene Parent and her many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. A celebration of Angela’s life will be scheduled with the date and location to be determined. All arrangements have been entrusted to TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, check www.toomeyobrien.com for additional information and updates. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Angela’s memory may be made to Learn to Cope, 4 Court Street Suite 110, Taunton, MA 02780 or online at learn2cope.org/donate.
