Anita I. (Varney) Christiansen

Anita Christiansen of Hudson, Florida died on February 24, 2015 after a long illness. Anita was born as Anita Irene Varney in Norton, Massachusetts in 1930. She was the daughter of Anita Melanson and Howard Varney. She was predeceased by her daughter JoAnn Johnson of Springfield, MA and her sisters Theresa Ferreira and Rita Parlier.�Anita lived a long and active life bringing up three daughters while working as a nurse at the Providence Hospital and later at Mass Mutual Corp. She received her nurse�s training at the Providence Hospital School of Nursing from 1948 to 1951. She returned to school to earn a Bachelor�s degree at AIC in 1985. After retirement Anita moved to Fla and there spent much of her time painting, cooking and volunteering at the local hospital.�Her husband George Christiansen of Hudson, FL died on March 15, 2015. She leaves her daughters Dianne Seaman of San Diego and Patricia Quinn of West Springfield and her cherished twin sister Edna Doucette of Chicopee. She created a big family leaving seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
