Feeding Hills – Ann M. Clapp passed away on February 9, 2026 with loving family by her side. She was 84 years old. Born in Springfield on July 24, 1941, she was one of three children born to the late Arthur and Lucy (Beauchemin) Parent. She was raised in West Springfield where she lived until moving to Feeding Hills with her dear husband of 62 years, Robert Clapp.
Ann was a hairdresser for many years before attending STCC earning her Associates degree. Ann loved to bake a variety of Christmas cookies, along with her specialty fruit cakes. Most of all, she enjoyed passing them out to family and friends. She loved spending time at Nina's cookies helping out with any and all she could do. Ann loved her annual trips to Cape Cod with her family where they enjoyed hot fudge sundae's with pecans on the side at the Sundae School Ice Cream Shop in Dennisport. She was passionate in making beautiful cards and ornaments from her heart. She touched so many lives with these gifts that can be cherished forever. One of her best joys was making ornaments and decorating the Christmas tree in the Woodland building at Mary's Meadow.
Ann will be missed by her loving husband Robert, devoted daughters Donna Clapp and her partner Bill Woods, and Denise Pelchat, all of Feeding Hills, brother David Parent of Boynton Beach, FL and sister Jane Parent of West Springfield, grandchildren Collin and Garrett Pelchat, and Donna's stepson Justin Cote and his wife Karen.
There will be a wake from 8-10am on Wednesday, February 18 at TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, with a funeral service at 10am followed by committal at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial donations to Mary’s Meadow at Providence of Holyoke, 12 Gamelin St., Holyoke, MA 01040 or Professional Medical Services, 265 S. Westfield St, Feeding Hills, MA 01030.
Ann’s family expresses thanks to the entire staff at Mary’s Meadow for their exceptional care and support. A special gratitude to Alla from Professional Medical Services for her dedication and undying love for Ann.
