Obituary
Ann (Hudzikiewicz) Kulig, 81, of West Springfield passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2020 surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. Born in Holyoke on July 9, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Mozgala) Hudzikiewicz. Ann was a graduate of the Springfield Hospital School of Nursing, she worked as a registered nurse at Providence Hospital, Baystate Medical Center and Glenmeadow after retirement. She was a communicant of St. Thomas Church. Ann leaves her beloved husband, Richard E. Kulig, her loving children, Donald and his wife Gail of Chandler, AZ and Joseph and his wife Liz of West Springfield, her daughter-in-law Yolli of Chandler, AZ; her cherished grandchildren; Richard, Christopher, Joey, Tiffany, and Chanel. Ann also leaves her beloved siblings, Walter of South Hadley and his friend Elaine, Phyllis Meyers of Ellington, CT, and husband Rex, and was predeceased by her brother Joe of Eugene, Oregon, and wife Mary. Ann enjoyed vacationing in Aruba, traveling to Australia, the Phillippines, Seattle, Florida and Arizona. Ann enjoyed attending Polkabrations at Ocean Beach, trips to Mohegan Sun, gardening and entertaining pool side with family and friends at the “Captains Corner”. The family would like to thank the ladies at the 3rd floor Oncology unit at Baystate and the staff at Daybrook Village staff for their wonderful care and support throughout Ann’s illness. The funeral home service will be held Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at 1:30 pm from the TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 Westfield St., West Springfield followed by burial at the MA Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. Calling hours are Monday 4pm – 7pm. Donations may be made to the D’Amour Cancer Center 3350 Main St. Springfield, MA. 01199.
