Anne L. (Dostie) Schmidt

West Springfield - Anne Leora (Dostie) Schmidt, 87, of Monastery Heights passed away Sunday at Baystate Medical Center. She was born in Augusta, ME on June 11th, 1929 to the late Delia (Letendre) and George Dostie. She was raised in Maine and spent most of her life in Connecticut before settling in West Springfield 10 yrs. ago. She was formerly a communicant of St. Lawrence O�Toole Church in Hartford. Anne devoted her life to her family, taking care of her ailing husband and especially enjoyed doting over her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was the beloved widow of Roger H. Schmidt who passed away in 1985, loving mother of Roger H. Schmidt of Hinsdale, MA, Raymond J. Schmidt of Colchester, CT, Margaret Schmidt of OR, Ronald Schmidt and his wife Debra of West Springfield, and Marilyn Ridel of AZ, caring sister of Louise Gauvin of Brunswick, ME, devoted grandmother of 9 and cherished great grandmother of 5. All funeral arrangements are private and Toomey-O�Brien Funeral Home has been entrusted with all arrangements. Ronald and Debra would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to All the Staff and Residents of Landmark Assisted Living where she resided for the last several years. The quality of care, compassion, and devotion that was bestowed upon her enabled all of us to enjoy Anne in her twilight years. Anne enjoyed participating in Bingo several times a week, manicures with Tina and the ladies, and lunch outings to local restaurants. The Monastery will be a bit quieter without their social butterfly. With that said, in lieu of flowers, please make donations in Anne's name to the Activities Fund at the Monastery, please make check payable to Landmark at Monastery Heights, 110 Monastery Ave., West Springfield, MA 01089. The staff provides their residents with the dignity that all our Seniors deserve.
