Longmeadow - Anne (Tinti) Casali beloved mother, writer, teacher and restauranteur. On October 13, 2014 this remarkable woman passed away at 98 years of age with her adoring children by her side. She was born in 1916 to Erminia & Celso Tinti in Bourne MA. In 1924, Anne�s parents opened Tinti�s Restaurant, the first Italian restaurant in Western Mass, popular with families from the New England, NY and NJ area, as well as other luminaries such as world famous violinist David Rubinoff and Hollywood star Henry Armetta. Anne attended Simmons College and graduated from American International College. She was a beloved English and Geography teacher for many years at the Agawam Middle School. Anne was an avid and prolific writer of poetry and in her 90�s had �My Little Teddy Bear� published. Much of her poetry flows from her early years in Sagamore, Cape Cod. She was born in a small village surrounded by woods, a place where families cared for and shared with each other. She was writing a comprehensive cookbook of her family�s treasured Italian Recipes for publication. Anne had a great love of helping others. A devoted Catholic � her faith was a blessing to all those she touched. Active in her 90�s she would walk 2-5 miles a day praying the rosary for her loved ones. Anne was predeceased by her cherished husband of over 40 years Joseph J. Casali, owner of Tinti�s Frozen Foods in Agawam famous for their delicious frozen tortellini, and Italian delicacies, as well as her brother Tello Tinti, a 1946 Harvard graduate, and sister Corada Solaroli, an educator in Wilbraham. Anne is survived by her sister Arden Nicoli, her five children Lynne Casali, Janice Hallett, Robert Casali, David Casali and Sherrie Casali, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. The funeral will be Friday 10AM from the TOOMEY-O�BRIEN Funeral Home, 1043 Westfield, St., W. Spfld., followed by n 11:30 Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Mary�s Church, 519 Longmeadow St., Longmeadow. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home Thursday from 4-7PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory are requested for St. Mary�s Academy, 56 Hopkins Pl, Longmeadow, MA 01106.
