Annette Marie (Argiro) Wheeler passed away peacefully on July 7 surrounded by family in West Springfield.

She was 101 years old.

Born in West Springfield, April 15, 1925, Annette was one of 7 children born to the late Antonio and Josephine (Marra) Argiro. A life-long resident, Annette attended West Springfield High School and later worked in the kitchen at Heritage Hall in Agawam for several years. She loved to cook especially for her family who were treated to weekly deliveries of her renowned tomato sauce. She also enjoyed visiting Cape Cod with her husband Francis.

In addition to her parents and husband, Francis (Mac) Wheeler, Annette was predeceased by her 6 siblings, Dominic (Mimi), Albert (Babe), Antonio (Pat), James (Jimmy), Marie Zaniboni, and Frances Podgorski. She will be sorely missed by her son Francis Wheeler, Jr. and his wife Laurie; daughter Joanne Kean; her 4 loving grandchildren, Anthony (Lauren) Wheeler, Ashley Keane, Joseph (Virginia) Kean, Justin Kean, and her 5 loving great-grandchildren.

A Private Visitation for family will be 10-11am at TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME on Monday July 13, followed by Mass of Christian Burial for family and friends at 11:30 at St. Thomas Church and Committal at St, Thomas Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, consider a donation in Annette’s name to St. Jude Research Hospital.
