Anthony J. Calabro

May 26, 1943 — March 2, 2024

Anthony James Calabro, 80, died peacefully on Saturday March 2, 2024 at Agawam West Rehab and Nursing Center. Born in Waterbury, CT to the late Celeste and Anna (D’Amelio) Calabro, he was a proud Army veteran of the Vietnam era. He worked as a firefighter for the Town of Waterbury, CT for many years until his retirement.
Anthony is survived by his devoted partner of 28 years Martha Heinbokel of Agawam, sister Lucy Stanaz of Southington, CT and nieces Valerie and Carla. In addition to his parents, Anthony was also predeceased by his sisters Carmella and Victoria.
Family and friends may meet for Anthony’s Committal Service with Military Honors on Monday, March 11th at 10:00 AM at MA Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675.
