Barbara L. (Frye) Lapalme

West Springfield - Barbara L. (Frye) LaPalme, 86, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family Sunday December 28, 2014 at Mercy Hospital. She was born in Chicopee, September 15, 1928 and was the daughter of the late Erwin and Eva (Lilley) Frye. She was raised in Springfield and moved to West Springfield over 50 years ago. She was a bus driver in West Springfield for many years and was a member of the Senior Center, the Women�s VFW, the Chicopee Moose Lodge 1849 where she was an avid bingo player and was the former treasurer, and also loved to bowl and travel. Her husband Gerard J LaPalme died in 1993 and her son Robert LaPalme died in 2012. Barbara leaves her sons, Michael and his wife Ann of F. Hills and Gary of South Carolina, and her grandchildren, Kristina, Nick, Carolyn, Elizabeth and their spouses and several great grandchildren. A funeral home service will be held Tuesday December 30, 2014 at noon from the Toomey-O�Brien Funeral Home 1043 Westfield St West Springfield with calling hours from 10am-noon. Burial will be private at the Agawam Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Shriners Hospital 516 Carew St Springfield, MA 01104-2396.
