Barbara A. Polverari

October 3, 1939 — November 1, 2024

Southwick - Barbara A. Polverari passed away on Friday, November 1, 2024, at her
home with her loving family by her side. She was 85 years old. She was born in
Springfield on October 3, 1939, daughter of the late Ernest and Dorothy (Coates) Hauff.
Barbara and Robert lived in West Springfield for over 50 years before moving to their
Southwick farm 18 years ago. She followed her husband throughout his racing career
for over 50 years. She enjoyed golfing at Shaker Farms Country Club, playing pitch at
the Tatham Social Club and dominoes with the family; traveling with Bob all over the
world and on some hunting trips. She had a passion for animals and will be greatly
missed by her border collie, Katie and her two cats, Pedi and Shadow. The
Southwick-Polverari Animal Shelter bears her name. Barbara especially loved her
family, she counted it a blessing to be at home, cooking meals as well as holiday
gatherings for her family. She will be missed by her loving husband of 66 years, Robert
Polverari; son Robert Jr. (Joanne); daughter Elizabeth; her siblings, Richard Hauff;
Arlene Kellogg; Donald (Janice) Hauff and Ernest (Carol) Hauff, Jr.; grandchildren
Randy (Samantha) Wilke; Dena (Jennifer) Polverari; Samantha (Giovanni)
Polverari-Barrios); Krystal (Landon) Cannizzaro and Ashley Wellington (Hector);
great-grandchildren Daniel, Madelyne and Vivian Wilke; Rhea and Casey Cannizzaro;
and many nieces and nephews and was predeceased by her brothers-in-law, Theodore
Kellogg and George Polverari and sister-in-law Joyce Hauff. Visitation will be on Friday
November 8th from 4-7 pm at TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME in West
Springfield. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Thomas the Apostle Church
on Saturday November 9th at 10 am followed by burial at St. Thomas Cemetery. In lieu
of flowers, please consider a donation to the Polverari-Southwick Animal Shelter, 11
