Benjamin L. O'Dell

East Longmeadow, MA - Benjamin Lestock O�Dell, 78, died Wednesday at East Longmeadow Skilled Nursing Center in East Longmeadow, MA . He was born in Detroit, MI on July 24, 1937 to the late Benjamin and Kathleen (Schenk) O�Dell. His family nickname was Bing. He grew up in the Detroit area and graduated from St. Cecilia High School. He then attended and graduated from the University of Detroit. He taught German and English at Wayne State University in Detroit as well as tutoring students throughout his life. He settled in Northampton, MA seven years ago. Benjamin was a communicant of St. Valentine's Church in Northampton. He leaves his beloved brother, Donald O�Dell and his loving nephew Christopher O�Dell, both of Agawam. He was preceded in death by his beloved brother Dennis O'Dell last year. All funeral services will be private and the burial will be at the convenience of the family. TOOMEY-O�BRIEN FUNERAL HOME is in charge of all arrangements. In lieu of flowers donations memorial donations may be made to a charity of one�s choice.
