Longtime West Springfield resident Bernadette B. Argiro, 89, died peacefully on Friday, September 6, 2024, at Mary’s Meadow in Holyoke. Born in Raritan, NJ to the late Andrew and Mary (Denver) Boulia, she worked as a bookkeeper for many years. She was a faithful communicant of the former St. Ann’s Church in West Springfield and then St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, and she was an avid and talented crafter. In addition to her parents, Bernadette was also predeceased by her husband Antonio Argiro and her siblings; Leona Van Meter, Paul Boulia, Andrew Boulia, Jr., Mary Webster, Arthur Boulia, Virginia Skop and George Boulia. She will be dearly missed by her sisters; Catherine Carter of Newington, CT and Elizabeth Mizzoni of Cranston, RI, four devoted children; Tony Argiro of Royalston, MA, Joseph Argiro and his wife Cindy, Mary Ann Argiro and Patrick Argiro, all of West Springfield, three loving grandchildren; Jacob Argiro and his wife Melissa, Brian Argiro and his wife Sara and Kate Argiro, 6 cherished great grandchildren; Brandon, Adam, Owen, Harrison, Liliana and Colton, as well as many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Sept. 12th from 9-10:30 AM at Toomey O’Brien Funeral Home, 1043 Westfield St., West Springfield. Her Funeral Mass will follow at 11AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery.
