Bertha M. Turcotte
1930-2022
West Springfield- Bertha Mary (Sanocki) Turcotte, 92, of Laurel Road passed Sunday at Bear Mountain in West Springfield. She was born in Springfield on August 5, 1930 to the late Louise (Wenski) and Alexander Sanocki. She lived most of her life in West Springfield and graduated from West Springfield High School. Years ago Bertha worked at the Sickles Manufacturing formerly of Chicopee. Later in her life she worked in the kitchen at the former West Springfield Nursing Home and after that she delivered Meals on Wheels in Westfield. She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. She was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Bertha was a very caring person and was known as the Angel of the Neighborhood because of her willingness to help everyone. She was the beloved widow of Francis H. Turcotte (2004), loving mother of Debra Peret and her husband Roman of Westfield and the late Richard Turcotte who passed away in 2021, cherished grandmother of Michael Peret, caring sister of Ann Rogero, Alice Harper, and the late Walter Sanocki. Bertha also leaves several nieces and nephews. The calling hours will be Thursday 9:30 -11AM at the TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 Westfield Street, West Springfield, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:30AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church. There will be a Committal Service at 1PM at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam.
