Brian Deschamps, 69, of Vernon, CT, passed away peacefully on May 05, 2024. Brian was born on September 30, 1954 to Dorothy and Stephen Deschamps in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Stephen passed away in 1967, and Dorothy remarried to Brian's stepfather, Parker (Pop-Pops) Lansdale, in 1976. After graduating from Bridgeport High in 1976, Brian went on to study podiatry at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, where he graduated in 1989. Brian went on to open a successful podiatry practice in Vernon, CT, where he practiced for over 40 years. He was awarded Connecticut's Podiatrist of the Year award in 2003, a testament to his talent as a doctor and surgeon. Brian was married to former wife Maryellen, for 30 years, and they had two daughters, Danielle, and Gabby. Brian was a loving father and worked hard to give his girls a positive and memorable childhood. Later in life Brian met his fiancé, Shirley Bentrup, who sadly passed away unexpectedly in November 2022. Brian spent the majority of his weekends on Hilton Head Island, SC where Shirley lived. Brian was an avid Red Sox fan, and golfer. He will be fondly remembered for his sense of humor and endless quotes from comic movies. He is survived by his daughters and their spouses, grandchildren Miranda and Brady and grandchild to-be Baby boy, sisters Patty and Peg, and his brother and best friend, Tom. The family has chosen not to hold a service, but plan to privately honor Brian by scattering his ashes on the beach at Hilton Head, where he most loved to be. Toomey-O’Brien Funeral home has been entrusted with all arrangements. In lieu of flowers, they ask that any donations be made in Brian's memory to the Jimmy Fund, 10 Brookline Place, Brookline, MA 02445.
