Brian M. Kennedy Jr.

Brian M. Kennedy, Jr., age 39, passed away at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by his loving family on December 30, 2017. He was born in Springfield on November 4, 1978. Brian grew up in West Springfield and attended St. Thomas the Apostle School, Holyoke Catholic High School and graduated from West Springfield High School. He received his Associates Degree in Business Administration from Springfield Technical Community College. He was attending Culinary School prior to his illness. He was a gifted athlete, who played baseball, basketball and soccer. He was a member of the varsity soccer team as a freshman at Holyoke Catholic High School. Brian loved the Caribbean. He especially enjoyed his winter visits to his Grandmother�s home on the Caribbean Island of Montserrat. He also enjoyed skiing at Mt. Tom with his aunt Gail. He was especially proud of his Irish Heritage and was part of a very large Irish Family. He leaves his parents Brian and Connie (Hale) Kennedy and his brother Joseph of West Springfield; his dearly beloved Grandmother, Mary P. Kennedy of West Springfield and his Great Aunts, Barbara Donovan and Elizabeth O�Brien. He also leaves his Uncles, Joseph Kennedy and his wife Barbara and Stephen Kennedy and his wife Judy. He also leaves his Aunts, Mary Lou Dragon and Dr. Gail A. Kennedy as well as numerous cousins and their families. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 9:30-11:30 AM at Toomey-O�Brien Funeral Home, 1043 Westfield St., West Springfield. Brian�s Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:00 PM at St. Thomas Church.
