Obituary
Carl E. Cousineau, 88, passed away August 1, 2020. He was born April 29, 1932 to the late Theodore and Blanche Cousineau. Carl graduated from UMASS Amherst with BS in Engineering. He worked as a mechanical engineer at Atlas Copco, Worthington Corp, Hamilton Standard in the United Aircraft Division and Westinghouse Electric Corp. Carl was a member of the Hampshire County Radio Controllers Society of Mechanical Engineers. An avid model airplane builder, he also enjoyed history, reading, animals (especially cats) and loved spending time with his family. Carl was predeceased by his wife Aurelia (Drewniak) Cousineau in 2000. He leaves behind his loving daughter Charlene M. Chalmers and her husband Robert of Plymouth, VT., his grandsons; Brian Chalmers of Windsor Locks, CT., and Rhys Chalmers of Reading, VT., his brothers Ted Cousineau and his wife Cosette of Blandford, MA and David Cousineau and his wife Bonnie of Naples, FL., and a sister Nancy Jolivet of Granby, MA. Funeral Services will be held FRIDAY 8:45 AM at TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 WESTFIELD ST., followed by a 10 AM Liturgy of Christian Burial in St. Thomas Church, 47 Pine St., W. Spfld. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling Hours will be held THURS from 4 to 7 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104, or Beacon Hospice @ AMEDISYS, 815 Worcester St., Springfield, MA 01151 or Westfield Homeless Cat Project, 1124 East Mountain Rd., Westfield, MA 01085.
