Obituary
Carl Eric Winckel, 81, of North Road passed away Wednesday at Heritage Hall West in Agawam. He was born in Springfield on September 17, 1938 to the late Adam and Ada (Brundrett) Winckel and he live most of his life in this area. He worked in the Shipping Department of Smith and Wesson for 38 years. He also worked part-time as a vendor for Eddie Shore at the Coliseum and the Big E in West Springfield and also at the former Pynchon Park in Springfield. He was a member of the Vendors Hall. Carl was an avid Red Sox fan. He leaves several cousins and his close friend Ted Shore of West Springfield. There will be a Private Committal Service at Hillcrest Park Cemetery in Springfield. Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home has been entrusted with all arrangements. In lieu of flowers donations in Carl’s name may be made to the Shriners’ Hospital for Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104 or to the Salvation Army, 170 Pearl Street, Springfield, MA 01101.
