Carol Eleanor (Bradley) Sullivan, 84, of West Springfield, Mass., formerly of Longmeadow, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2015, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on May 4, 1930, daughter of the late Sheldon Bradley and Eleanor Bradley, of West Springfield, Mass. Carol was married in 1950 to her husband of 64 years, Richard Sullivan, of West Springfield, Mass. While raising her four children, Carol was also very active in local charities and politics. She loved art and music, a patron of the Tanglewood Music Festival in Stockbridge, Mass., for many years. Carol was a graduate of Bay Path College. After her children were grown, she pursued a career in journalism, a newspaper reporter on the local scene. Carol is survived by her husband, Richard Sullivan; daughter, Patricia Gardner, of Newmarket, N.H.; son, George R. Sullivan, of Longmeadow, Mass.; daughter, Janice Boyer and her husband Andrew Boyer, of Longmeadow, Mass.; sister, Anne Martin and her husband Paul Martin of Boston, Mass.; grandchildren Erin Gardner, Kelly Gardner, Shelley Lavin Barandes, Lisa Lavin, Brandon Boyer, Richard Spafford, Kenneth Spafford; and, great-grand children Maxwell Woytek, Sadie Barandes and Emily Barandes. Carol is predeceased by her daughter, Carol Anne Spafford, of West Springfield, Mass.; her sister, Patricia Corbett, of Longmeadow, Mass; and, her son-in-law, Bruce Gardner, of Newmarket, N.H. Carol also leaves behind many other loving family members and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial for Carol will be Wednesday 10 AM at St. Thomas Church, located at 47 Pine Street in West Springfield, Mass. Burial will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4-7 PM at the TOOMEY-O�BRIEN Funeral Home, located at 1043 Westfield Street in West Springfield, Mass.
