Obituary
Carol A. Cote, 79, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 9, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Springfield, MA. Carol grew up in Hampden, MA., under the loving care of the late Leon and Yvette Cote. She graduated from Cathedral High School and was a long-time Springfield and Palmer resident.  Carol was a gregarious and warm soul, always ready to help those less fortunate and initiate a hearty belly laugh for all willing to join in. Her impact was especially experienced within the local AA community, where she enjoyed 42 years of active sobriety. Her unique and innocent take on life will be missed by everyone. She is survived by her devoted children, Scott Daris of Palmer, David Daris of England, and Lynn Daris of Feeding Hills. She also leaves her sister Barbara Masaschi and her husband, David Masaschi of Florida. She joins her beloved son Steven Daris and her sister Theresa. Carol will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Leanne, Amanda, Aidan, Jason, and Alex, and countless family and friends she touched with her generous personality. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 22nd at 5:00 pm at Brush Hill Community Center located at 2 Parkwood Dr. West Springfield, with refreshments and light fare to be served. She will then be laid to rest at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hampden, MA., in a private ceremony surrounded by close family. The Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home, 1043 Westfield St., West Springfield is in charge of all arrangements. Anyone wishing to send flowers please send them to the funeral home before 3pm on June 22nd.
