Carol Ann (Fortino) Morra

d. January 14, 2017

Belchertown Carol Ann (Fortino)Morra, 71, passed away suddenly Saturday morning. Carol was born August 10, 1945 in Glen Falls, NY to the late Sandy and Mary (Procaccini) Fortino. Carol grew up in Ticonderoga, New York, where she made lifelong friends. She loved telling stories of the fun she had with her friend Mary. Later she moved with her Mother and Sister to Connecticut. Carol spent many years working at the Registry of Motor Vehicles, where she met her future husband, Ronald Morra. They married on Valentines day 1975 and started their family. They settled in Massachusetts and spent their remaining years in Belchertown. Carol spent years working in her childrens school system. Her true passion was her ability to be a home caregiver. Carol quickly became the open kitchen mom. She always had Chicken tenders hot out of the oven, crackers, and grapes ready for any kid who happened to walk through the door. She always believed; feed them and they will always come back. She loved all of her kids friends, and enjoyed watching them grow. She shared this joy with her husband Ronald until his passing in 2006. Carol was a devoted grammy to her seven grandchildren. She loved attending Lucass soccer games; Natalie and Annabelles dance recitals; Chelsea and Carleas Archery classes; lesson times with her technology wizard Brandon; and her sweet cuddles from her youngest grandson Jameson. Carol was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ronald A. Morra of 31 years, and her sister-in-law, Janet Paniccia. She is survived by her loving children, Thomas A. Morra and his wife Heather of Belchertown, Robert A. Morra and his wife Jessica of Belchertown and Lisa (Morra) Foley of Ware. She was the caring sister of Dominic Paniccia, Tony Paniccia, Joanna Hansling, and her brother-in-law Steven Morra. She was the cherished Grammy to Lucas, Brandon, Chelsea, Natalie, Carlea, Annabelle, and Jameson. She will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and her lifelong friends Mary and Rosemary. Calling hours will be Saturday from 8-10AM at Toomey-OBrien Funeral Home, 1043 Westfield Street, West Springfield. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 47 Pine Street, West Springfield, burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery.
