Carol A. (Sibley) Grady

West Springfield- Carol Ann (Sibley) Grady, 69, beloved wife of 48 years to Daniel Grady and devoted mother of Timothy and Eric Grady, passed away on October 22nd, 2016 after a valiant and lengthy battle with Alzheimers. Carol was the daughter of the late Harold and Mary (Simpson) Sibley. A 1964 graduate of West Springfield High school, Carol also received degrees from both Bay Path University and American International College. She began teaching at West Springfield High School, and then spent the majority of her 30 year career as a business teacher and off-site job program director at Agawam High School, a position of which she was very proud and found enjoyable and rewarding. Her family and their well-being were always foremost in her heart and she cherished the times she spent with her son Tim and his wife Sherry and Eric and his wife Beth. Her husband, sons, and daughters-in-law, as well as her four beloved grandchildren; Connor, Cole, Meghan, and Owen meant the world to her. She loved teaching, socializing with friends, reading, visiting York, Maine, and most especially, shopping for clothing and finding bargains at the various malls. Carol always carried herself with grace, dignity, and poise. These traits coupled with her honesty and kindness made her a wonderful friend as well as a strong role model to others. She was �down to earth� and practical. Her presence and spirit will be sorely missed by her family and friends � especially by her best friend, her husband Dan. The family sends thanks to the staff at Monastery Assisted Living facility in West Springfield for their care. Special gratitude from her loved ones for the loving attention Carol received for many years at Heritage Hall North and West Nursing Homes in Agawam � especially the C and F Wings at both facilities. The staff at Heritage West handled Carol�s last days with extreme kindness and professionalism. Carol would want the people who knew her and loved her to celebrate her life with laughter, kindness, inspiring others, and enjoying their friends and families. Visiting hours will be from 4-7 PM on Thursday at the TOOMEY-O�BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 Westfield Street, West Springfield. There will be a Funeral Home Service 11 AM Friday. Burial will follow at the Paucatuck Cemetery in West Springfield. In lieu of flowers donations in Carol�s name may be made to the Alzheimer�s Association, 264 Cottage Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
