Carol A, Signet

West Springfield-Carol Ann (Sterlacci) Signet, 79, passed away Monday, June 10, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Springfield on October 14, 1944, to the late Filomena (Graziano) and Nicholas Sterlacci. She grew up in Springfield, graduated from Cathedral High School and has lived in West Springfield for over 50 years. Carol worked at National Amusements (Showcase Cinemas) for over 20 yrs. First as a cashier and eventually retiring as the district office manager. She was a longtime communicant of St. Thomas Church in West Springfield and a member of the St. Thomas Women’s Club but being a mother and grandmother was her greatest joy in life. She loved spending time with her family, whether it was attending her children’s or grandchildren’s sporting events, school events, or just having a family dinner. Carol loved to bake, garden, read, watch movies, take long walks and spend time at the beach.
She was the loving wife of David D. Signet, who passed away in 2023, beloved mother to David Jr and his wife Cheryl of West Springfield, Brian and his wife Norma of West Springfield, Jeffrey and his wife Rebecca of Feeding Hills and Steven and his wife Sarah of Agawam. She was the caring sister of Christine Aussant and her late husband Thomas of Feeding Hills and Pat Sterlacci and his wife Aggie of NC. Devoted grandmother to her 11 beloved grandchildren, Tyler, Ella, Stephanie, Katherine, Mario, Brison, Gianna, Brayden, Sophie, Nora, William and her 2 loving great grandchildren, Faith and Aaron. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The calling hours will be Monday (6/17) from 4-7 pm at TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 Westfield Street, West Springfield. There will be a funeral mass Tuesday at 9:45 am at St. Thomas Church, West Springfield followed by a Committal Service at 11 am at the Massachusetts Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam.
