Obituary
Catherine Elaine (Lascala) Morris of West Springfield, MA passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at the age of 89. Catherine was predeceased by her beloved husband, John S. Morris, and her parents, Nicholas Lascala and Anna (Luppi) Lascala. Catherine was born in West Springfield in 1932 and grew up there. She graduated from West Springfield High School in 1950 and worked for Old Colony Envelope Company in Westfield, MA for many years, retiring in 1998. She also worked for AIM Packaging and New England Uniform in West Springfield in the 1970’s. She was devoted to her family and the many beloved pets, both cats and dogs, she cared for throughout her life. Catherine leaves her son, Michael Morris, and his partner, Patrick Roth, of Provincetown, MA; her daughter, Geraldine Granger, and her partner Kevin Garvey, of West Springfield; her daughter, Barbara Morris, of West Springfield; and several nieces and nephews. Catherine was predeceased by her sister, Geraldine Warren, and her brothers, William Lascala, Melvin Lascala and Philip “Boogie” Lascala. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, August 17 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Toomey O’Brien Funeral Home, 1043 Westfield St., West Springfield. Catherine’s Funeral will be Thursday at 10:00 AM at Toomey O’Brien Funeral Home to a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 47 Pine St., West Springfield. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Enfield, CT. The family would like to thank the staff at Heritage Hall in Agawam and at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield for the wonderful care they provided to Catherine.
