Obituary
Charles Ralph LaFleche, 85, formerly of Gaskill Avenue passed away Sunday at Mount St. Vincent Nursing Home in Holyoke. He was born in Tewksbury on October 17, 1933 to the late Herve and Anne LaFleche. He lived in West Springfield for most of his life and worked for the town’s Park and Recreation Department for over 35 years retiring in 1992. He was a U.S. Air Force Korean War Veteran. Charles was a member and Past Commander of the American Legion Post 207. He enjoyed gardening and watching both the Red Sox and Patriots play. He was the beloved widow of the late Kay (Lamica) LaFleche, loving father of Barbara A Strycharz and her husband Thomas of Southampton, Laura L. Bean and her husband Kevin also of Southampton, Marie C. Robson and her husband Leon of Agawam, and the late Suzanne M. Wyatt (1995) and her husband Thomas of VT, caring brother of Rene LaFleche and his wife Jane of West Springfield, devoted grandfather of Matt and Nicholas Strycharz, Carl and Michael Bean, Christine Kotuby, and Sara Wyatt, and cherished great grandfather of Emma, Connor, Kevin, Nathan Bean and Contessa Kay and Paul Michael Kotuby. There will be a calling hour Thursday from 10-11 AM at the TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 Westfield Street, West Springfield followed by a Funeral Home Service at 11 AM. Burial will be Private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Charles’ name may be made to the Shriners’ Hospital for Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
