Christine (Cannamela) Menard, 80, passed away March 18 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Springfield, December 26, 1939, daughter of the late Louis and Mary Ellen (Liberto) Cannamela. Christine worked as a chef for various restaurants including Antonio’s, Amanda’s and Little George’s and also was a nanny. She was a former communicant of Mt. Carmel and the former St. Joseph’s Church in Springfield. Her beloved husband Bernard died in 2002. She leaves her loving children, Marlene (Butler) Menard with whom she lived, Anthony Cannamela of Maryland and David Cannamela of Springfield, her loving sister, Nancy Cehonski of Utica, NY and her loving 5 grandchildren. All services are private with burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. The Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Donations may be made to Baystate VNA and Hospice 30 Capital Drive West Springfield 01089 or the Alzheimer’s Assn. of Mass. 264 Cottage St. Springfield, MA 01104-3274.
