Claire (Provost) Lefebvre, a longtime resident of West Springfield passed away at the Country Center for Health & Rehabilitation in Newburyport MA on November 23, 2016 after a long illness. She was 90 years old. Claire was born in Holyoke, MA in 1926 to Ulric and Flora Provost. She graduated from Holyoke High School and worked at Skinner and Sons in Holyoke. She married Jerry Lefebvre in 1948. They lived in Holyoke and moved to West Springfield in 1958. Claire worked for many years as a secretary at the McDonough School in West Springfield. Claire was an active member of the West Springfield community. She was a member of the PTA, Ramapogue Women's Club, the St. Thomas Women's Cub, as well as a volunteer at the Old Day House. After retiring Claire enjoyed traveling to visit her sons and their families. Claire was predeceased by her husband Jerry Lefebvre (1994) and her son Brian Lefebvre (2012). She is survived by her son Brett Lefebvre and wife Trudy (McDonald) of Newburyport, MA; daughter-in-law Cindy (Bullock) Lefebvre of Edwards CO; son Russell Lefebvre and his wife Beth (Rumor) of Carmel CA. She leaves four loving grandchildren Breton Lefebvre and wife Julia of Lowell MA; Nicole (Lefebvre) Catalfano and husband Joseph of Sherborn MA; Colby Lefebvre of Vail, CO; Ryan Lefebvre of Carmel, CA; and two great-grandchildren Sienna Maria Lefebvre of Lowell, MA and Anna Claire Catalfano of Sherborn, MA. She was also predeceased by her sister Estelle (Provost) Tourangeau and will be missed by her many nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by the children of her departed friend Dr. Jim Sady. The funeral service will be at St. Thomas Church in West Springfield on Friday December 2, 2016 at 10:00 AM followed by the burial at St. Thomas Cemetery.
