IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Cliffie M
Thompson
November 10, 1938 – January 22, 2026
We are saddened to announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great & great-great grandmother, aunt, and friend, Cliffe Mae Thompson (nee Felton) who departed this life on January 22nd. Cliffie was known for her unwavering focus on family and great conversation skills. Born on 11/10/38 in Turners Falls, MA to Fred Felton and Alfreda Felton (nee Peterson), Cliffie grew up in Lake Pleasant, MA and then spent most of her adult life in West Springfield with her husband of nearly 70 years, Ronald P. Thompson. There, they raised their family and made life-long friends in their close-knit neighborhood. Cliffie always made friends easily and was known for her communication skills. She could talk to anyone - about anything! She never saw strangers but instead saw potential acquaintances and future friends. If during your first introduction to Cliffie you did not have a nice chat, it was probably because you weren't trying - because God knows, she was. Cliffie always enjoyed a good party and was thrilled to spend time with neighbors at pool parties, basement gatherings, clam bakes and even midnight sledding excursions. Her most cherished times included family vacations at Misquamicut Beach and Lake Winnipesaukee as well trips to Europe, California, Bermuda, Mexico, Branson MO and multiple cruises with her mother and daughters. And Cliffie loved nothing more than spending time with the many children in her expanded family. Besides raising her family, Cliffie also worked as a nurse's aide at local nursing homes and was a server at the former WT Grants in Westfield. Cliffie is survived by her daughter Paula Thompson Beckwith and her husband Richard, her daughter Rhonda Thompson Beckwith, and her son Ronald Neil Thompson and wife Lauren. She is preceded in death by her husband, mother, father, and brother, Fred Felton. A service to celebrate Cliffie's life will be held on Tuesday January 27, 2026, at Toomey O'Brien Funeral Home, at 1PM with calling hours from 11AM -1PM. Donations to Baystate Hospice, 280 Chestnut St Springfield, MA 01199, or the Dakin Humane Society, 171 Union St Springfield, MA 01105.
