Obituary

David Allan Anderson, 72, of Joey Drive passed away unexpectedly January 23, 2026, at Baystate Medical Center. He was born in New Britain, CT to the late Eleanor (née Goodrich) and Russell Anderson. David was raised with his 3 siblings in Hebron, CT where he graduated from RHAM high school in the class of 1971. Shortly after finishing high school, David began his career in Radiology Technology, serving in the Medical corps of the U.S. Army and Army Reserve for 20 years. In his first 9 years in active duty, he served in both the US and Germany, and experienced the birth of his first son, Rob, with Donna Emerick. He then joined the Army Reserves for another 11 years, achieving the rank of Sergeant First Class and earning Bachelor’s of Science in Radiology from the University of Hartford. David and Linda Molloy were married in 1991, where they and their sons Rob and Devin would welcome Connor and Liam Anderson to their family and build a loving, 35-year marriage in Agawam. David coached youth soccer for all of his sons and volunteered with the Special Olympics. He worked at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Hartford, CT, Baystate Medical Center in Springfield and Middlesex Hospital in Middletown, CT, where he became the Assistant Director of Radiology. David was an avid gardener, a talented craftsman, and a home remodeling aficionado with a skill for building anything his family needed. He will be missed by many including his devoted wife Linda F. Molloy of Agawam, his sons Rob, Devin, Connor, and Liam, his granddaughters Sydney and Olivia, and his siblings, Susan Anderson and Bob Anderson. He also leaves several nieces and nephews and his brother-in-law, Brian, and is predeceased by his sister, Carolyn Moore. There will be a Committal Service with Military Honors Wednesday, February 11 at 3:00PM at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam. Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations in David’s memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675-85-16.
