Obituary
David J. Karas, 59, of West Springfield passed away Wednesday at home. He was born in Holyoke on November 13, 1961 to the late Edward and Mary (Bobala) Karas. He worked as a machinist for 28 years at American Saw/Lenox Corporation. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved spending time at his summer home in Otis, boating and floating on the lake. He was the loving father of Megan Karas of Boston, MA, Jonathan Karas of Liberty, TX, Rick Bramucci and his wife Michelle of Hadley, and Leslie MacKenzie and her husband Brian of E. Long., caring brother of Daniel Karas of TX, Dori O’Brien and her husband Tom of FL, Dolly O’Brien and her husband John of TX, and his twin Diane Cummings and her husband Rich of Chicopee, beloved Poppy of Zachary, Bella, and Scarlett. David also leaves several nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends. Calling Hours will be Thursday from 4-6 pm at the TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 Westfield Street, West Springfield. For all services, social distancing and masks are mandated per local health regulations. In lieu of flowers, donations in David’s name may be made to O.R.P.O.A. Annual Fireworks Fund P.O.
