Springfield - Deanna M. (Langtange) Barry passed away, surrounded by her loving family and friends, on December 26th in Springfield. She was 79 years old. Born in Old Town, ME on May 29, 1945, Deanna was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Edna (Vowles) Langtange. She was raised in West Springfield and most recently resided in Springfield. Deanna was proud to have earned her Licensed Practical Nursing degree from Western Massachusetts Hospital School for LPN’s in 1964. She practiced as an LPN for 12 years at the Marion Center in Holyoke caring for the Daughters of the Heart of Mary. She was an animal lover, especially of cats and her beloved Gracie May. Deanna loved spending time with her friends, playing Bingo and Dominoes. She loved shopping trips with her sister and daughter, watching movies, listening to oldies, especially Barry Manilow. Being with her family was the most important to thing to her. Deanna will be missed greatly by her daughter Virginia Kielbania (Barry) and husband Jonathan and by her sons William “Bill” Barry and his wife Janet and by David (Dave) Barry; brothers John Langtange and his wife Linda and brother Peter “Pete”; sister Deb Pope and her husband Jim; grandson Tyler Richards and his girlfriend Izzy and grandson Zach Kielbania; many nieces and nephews, including Kelly Pope, with whom she shared a special bond; and her best friend and roommate Linda Cowger. Services have been entrusted to TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME in West Springfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, January 2nd at 11 a..m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, followed by burial at St. Thomas the Apostle Cemetery.
