West Springfield - Deborah “Deb” L. Guy passed away unexpectedly at her home on February 15, 2025. Deb was born on September 28, 1951, in Orlando, FL and was one of three children born to Walter Holley and Lois (Kennedy) Stafford. After graduating from Fort Payne High School, Deb relocated to Massachusetts where she dedicated her life to working with people. She spent time as an activities director at Spruce Manor Nursing Home and working with children at the West Springfield Boys and Girls Club before earning her Teacher’s Assistant certificate and embarking on a fulfilling career as a Teacher’s Assistant at West Springfield’s Career Technical Educational Center. Deb is remembered fondly by students and staff alike where they describe her as warm, caring and quick with kind words and a smile. Deb was an avid reader and could often be found enjoying a good book over a hot cup of coffee in her favorite chair. She was also a talented seamstress sewing prom dresses, costumes, pjs for her grandkids and even a cherished wedding veil for her daughter Sara. She was a devoted mother and grandparent and loved nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren. She was a hard worker and caretaker by nature, and everyone was welcome in Deb’s home. Whether you needed a place to stay, a ride, help with the kids or just a shoulder to lean on, her door was always open. Deb’s presence will be sorely missed. She was predeceased by her parents and her sister Pamela Isabelle. She leaves behind her husband Edward Guy, daughter Sara Bileya (Osman Bileya) of Manchester, CT, sons Jason Pope and Hoyt Baxter of Windsor Locks, CT, her brother and sister-in-law Michael and Clara Stafford, her cherished grandchildren Emily Mercado, Ava Pope and Taha, Jacob, Lena and Aiden Bileya as well as her great grandson, Ethan Pedraza. A Memorial Visitation is scheduled for 10am-12pm on March 8th at TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Deb’s name to the American Heart Association
