Deborah A Pavlica

January 5, 1956 — July 21, 2023

Deborah Anne Pavlica, 67, of West Springfield passed away peacefully on July 21, 2023, surrounded by loved ones after losing a hard fought battle with Lewy Body Dementia. Deborah was born on January 5th 1956, in Providence, Rhode Island to Loving parents Anne Dumelle-Warren and Edwin “Joe” Warren. Debbie was a 1974 graduate of Cathedral High School in Springfield, MA. She furthered her education at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA and graduated in 1978 with a Bachelor of Arts, Psychology. After graduating, she started her professional career at Johnson’s Bookstore, in downtown Springfield. From there she worked at the Harford Insurance Company in Simsbury, CT then to Palmer Goodell Insurance Co in Springfield. She left the work force for several years to raise her two sons, Will and Jamie, then continued her professional career at Consolidated Health Plans, now known as Wellfleet. She retired as Supervisor of the Enrollment Department in April of 2022. Deborah met her beloved husband Andrew around 1980 while they were both employed for Reinhardt Associates, Inc in Springfield, MA. They happily married in 1986 and went on to adopt two beautiful sons, William and James in 1995, and 1996 respectfully. The boys are biological brothers and that always brought great joy to her heart knowing she was able to raise two sons from the same biological family. The love she had for her immediate and extended family was unsurmountable. Deborah had a grateful heart and spent her glory days enjoying the sunshine in Cape Cod, camping in Wells, ME and vacationing with friends and family in Rockport, MA. Deborah was a long-time member of the Friends of the West Springfield Library and thoroughly enjoyed reading. It was through this love of reading that led her to becoming a reader for Link to Libraries in the Chicopee School System. Her other enjoyments include walking, volunteering, the Red Sox and Celtics, spending time outside, and lending a helping hand to anyone in need. Her sense of compassion and empathy was unmatched. Deborah was predeceased by her mother, Anne, and her father Edwin. She is survived by her loving husband Andy of 37 years, sons William and James Pavlica, and their friendly dog Lucy, all of West Springfield. She is also survived by countless friends who Debbie treated like family, the College of Holy Cross Ladies who stayed close through these many years and cousins from all over the country! The Family would like to thank the warmhearted staff at CareOne at Redstone in East Longmeadow, MA where Deb spent her final days. Calling hours will be held at Toomey O’Brien Funeral Home in West Springfield on Thursday July 27, 2023 from 4:00-7:00 PM. Services will begin at 9:00 AM on Friday July 28, 2023 from the funeral home with a funeral mass to be held at St. Thomas Church in West Springfield at 10:00 AM.
