Deborah Ann Pytka, 69, of Galaska Drive passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 23rd at home. She was born in Springfield to the late Sophie (Kuliesh) and Norman Frigon. She lived all of her life in West Springfield. She graduated from Cathedral High School and attended and successfully completed the Nursing program at Lowell School of Nursing. She worked for years as an RN at the Holyoke Hospital. Deborah was a communicant of St. Thomas Church in West Springfield. She loved her summer vacations at the Cape and traveling to Disney. She further enjoyed time spent with her family members.
She was the beloved wife of 42 years to Gregory Pytka, loving mother of Michael Pytka and his husband Jeff of Upper Saddle River, NJ, Bryan Pytka and his longtime companion Chelsea of New York City, and Jennifer Vecchio and her husband John of Suffield, CT, caring sister of Barbara Andrew of East Longmeadow, and she also leaves several nieces and nephews. The calling hours will be Tuesday, April 30th from 4-7 p.m. at the TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 Westfield Street, West Springfield. The funeral will be Wednesday, May 1st at 9 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Church. Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery.
