Obituary
Denise Ellen (Jones) Malone, 65, of Hearthstone Drive passed away Monday, January 4th, at home. She was born in Greenville, SC on June 8, 1955 to the late George and Arlene (Emhoff) Jones. She spent her early years in Norwich, New York and has lived most of her life in Agawam. She graduated from Western New England University.  For twenty years, Denise was in pharmaceutical sales working mostly for GlaxoSmithKline plc., but found her passion in teaching. She taught Elementary School in West Springfield for five years and later taught biology for five years at the former Holyoke Catholic High School. She was a sports enthusiast who cheered for all Boston teams and loved music especially when it came to the Beatles.  Denise loved her family vacations on Cape Cod and Hilton Head, SC. She was the loving wife of 29 years to Timothy Malone, beloved mother of Matthew Malone of Agawam and Lauren Malone of Medford and caring sister of Lorinda Coutler of Plymouth and Melissa Wentz of TX. The calling hours will be Monday from 4-6 PM at the TOOMEY-O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 Westfield Street, West Springfield. The Funeral Mass will be Tuesday at 10 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church followed by a burial at St. Thomas Cemetery. During all services we ask that you adhere to social distancing guidelines and wear a mask at all times.
