West Springfield- Dennis Francis Goodrow, 72, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Monday. He was born in Westfield on February 17th, 1944 to the late Nelson and Delia (Valentine) Goodrow. He was a lifelong resident of West Springfield. Dennis proudly served in the United States Army for four years. He was stationed in South Korea and Munich, Germany during the Vietnam War. He worked as a Locomotive Engineer for years at Penn Central, Conrail, and CSXT. He was a longtime member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (BLET). Dennis was an avid Yankees fan. He leaves his loving and caring wife of 34 years Sandra A. (Gamelli) Goodrow. He was the beloved father of Jeff Goodrow of Largo, FL, and dear cousin of Patricia St. Amand of Longmeadow. Dennis also leaves many other cousins, nieces and nephews. The family would like to acknowledge and thank the Mercy Hospice Team for all the care and support they gave to Dennis over the last several months. The funeral will be 9 AM Thurs. at the TOOMEY-O�BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 1043 Westfield Street, West Springfield followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Burial will be at 11 AM at the Massachusetts Veterans� Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam. Calling hours are Wed. form 4-7 PM at the funeral home.
