West Springfield � Domenic DelBuono, 98, passed away December 21, 2017 at the Holyoke Soldiers� Home. He was born in Civitanova, Italy to the late Concetta (Silvano) and Nicola DelBuono. He passed through Ellis Island at the age of 11 with his mother, sister and brother to join his father in West Springfield. He graduated from West Springfield High School in 1940 and entered the US Army in 1941 where he served in Africa and Italy. In his younger years he enjoyed summer vacations with his family, bowling, wood working and making homemade wine. Domenic was a former communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Agawam. He worked at Rex Chain Belt for many years. Domenic was predeceased by his beloved wife of 59 years, Yolanda (Conti) DelBouno in 2006. He leaves his loving children, Tina D. Dunlop and her husband Bruce of Westfield, Nicholas DelBuono and his wife Joy of Westfield and Victor DelBuono and his wife Beverly of Springfield, eight adored grandchildren, Christin, Eric, Domenic, Nicholas, Joseph, Jenna, Erin and Jeffrey and 4 loving great grandchildren, his brother Gino DelBuono and his wife Bunny, his sister-in-law Eleanor DelBuono,�and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Angelo DelBuono and his sister Mary Tomaso. Domenic�s funeral home service will be 11am Tuesday at the Toomey-O�Brien Funeral Home, 1043 Westfield St., W. Springfield. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 9:30-11. The family would like to thank the staff at the Holyoke Soldiers� Home for their wonderful care. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Soldiers� Home in Holyoke, 110 Cherry Street, Holyoke, MA 01040.
