Donald J. Bennett

Donald J. Bennett, 90, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Springfield, February 26, 1925, he has been a resident of West Springfield since 1954. He was a graduate of Agawam High School and attended the University of Massachusetts. Donald was an Air Force Veteran during WWII, where he was a flight instructor. He worked as a salesman for the General Mills and Pillsbury Companies for many years. He enjoyed gardening, camping, sailing, local politics, golfing and was a member of the West Springfield Men�s Club and was an avid Red Sox, Patriots and Bruins fan. Donald leaves his beloved wife of 67 years, Lillian G. (Desrocher) Bennett, his loving children, James P. and John J. both of South Carolina, Susan A. Douglas of West Springfield, and David M. and his wife Holly of Indiana, his beloved brother, Leonard W. and his wife Betty of Citrus Heights, CA, his 10 loving grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at 1pm at the Agawam Veterans Memorial Cemetery. The Toomey-O�Brien Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
